To make the tail lift function, power is needed, coming from the battery in the trailer. Since the battery has limited power capacity, a cable is laid between the truck and the trailer. Through this cable, charging current from the truck is conducted to the battery in the trailer, keeping the tail lift operational. It’s important that these cables are sufficiently thick to prevent them from burning out while conducting the current. Moreover, the coiled cable must have sufficient length and slack to be able to make turns.
Flexibility
Thanks to the special winding, these cables are elastic, which increases flexibility. This provides more freedom of movement between the truck and the trailer without the cable itself becoming too long.
